It's true what they say: "life is all about perspective." When you're going through tough times or even just changing times, it can be hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel, but if you take a step back and put things into perspective, you might find that things look different than they seem. The same is true for everyday life - sometimes we get so caught up in the little things that we lose sight of the big picture. But by taking a moment to reflect on our lives and everything that's happening in them, we can gain a better understanding of ourselves and what's important to us.
One of the things I’ve tried to focus on in my daily life is to look at challenges from many different perspectives. This can even be for everyday tasks at home or at work. Sometimes we are so caught up in viewing things from our own angle that we miss very important pieces to the big picture. We tend to get defensive or stop really listening because it’s maybe not what we want or expect to hear. We shut down any perspective because it’s not ours. At that moment in time is when we need to breathe, take a step back, put on our listening ears, think through another’s eyes or shoes (as much as we’re able) and then reply, react, reaffirm or make the next best decision. And in saying all this, I’m far from perfect and mess up a lot. But those mess-ups make me better at my PERSPECTIVE when the next challenge arises.
Perspective mind shifts can be helpful when you’re feeling stuck, struggling, or working through life’s daily challenges.
